Comment
The warden of the Innocents was a real surprise. Original while presenting a fantasy classic, is a brilliant work for the construction of the main character is the moral that emerges after every event experienced by Geralt. Geralt is a classic hero spotless and fear, in fact it is not a hero, but a true anti-hero, although not humble and unconscious of their destiny as the protagonists to whom the latest fantasy we have become accustomed. He is a monster hunter by choice and not ashamed at all, but it is not cruel and violent. Need to kill and despise the way in which you persecute men killing each other, trying to remain detached from the environment in which it moves and indifferent problems of individuals. Yet, unwittingly, he is truly a guardian of the innocent and a hero. While acting for profit, we show compassion and good heart. The moral that transmits with subtle irony and a pinch of bitterness loaf is better than any other pseudo-education: in a world where men are afraid of monsters, you end up almost to accept the latter, because the human being has the courage to admit that the real monster.
The style is good, with some minor infodump here and there, as in the digression on the cult of Melitele, but overall the text flows with pleasure. For some 'discomfort that abruptly jumps from story to story frame business of owls, and vice versa. The expressions Colors are not vulgar but fun and give the story the humorous vein that makes it unique in its kind.
A novel that deserves to be on par with the great fantasy books in Europe.
